The
TLC group leader is responsible for the following:
- Making
phone calls to all propects.
- Leading
the Bible lesson and discussion.
- Initiating
the conversational prayer.
- Providing
a report of the TLC meeting.

The
TLC host/hostess is responsible for the following:
- Providing
a comfortable environment.
- Having
extra Bibles and pencils.
- Setting
an atmosphere of love and acceptance for everyone, regular attendees
and guests.
- Refreshments
are optional, depending on the desires of the group.

Leader/Host Training Opportunities |
| |
It
is important that you attend a TLC training class which will provide helps
to make you successful in leading or hosting your group. Training
sessions for leaders will be held periodically. Watch this page or the
Church Information Center in the narthex for up and coming sessions designed
to help you as a leader and/or host of a TLC group. A training session
will be held this fall. |

There
are five parts to our first training program:
-
Vision for the Harvest: We will talk openly about
the current effectiveness of churches today in God's Mission.
- The
Journey of the Heart: You will be introduced to a paradigm
for understanding the various steps involved in someone coming to
faith in Christ. The critical role that relationships and common interests
play in this process will also be explored. You will be challenged
to integrate these principles into your life and the lives of those
in your small group.
- My
Story: We will help you develop a clear, reproducible way
of telling your own spiritual story to non-Christians.
- Loving
Relationships: We want to increase awareness and a sense
of responsibility regarding loving relationships. You will be exposed
to nine habits that should characterize your small group. You will
be challenged to identify specific ways that you and your group can
grow in your ability to demonstrate love toward one another and toward
newcomers.
- Forming
Groups and selecting a Bible Study: Time will be spent helping
match up leaders and host/hostess plus beginning to identify people
who might be interested in your group. Time will also be given to
look through Bible Study options for your group.
Other training formats may be used, depending on the make up and needs
of the class.
