POBLO Ministries began in 1993, with one missionary, as an outreach to Muslims in the Dearborn, Michigan area where there is the largest population of Arabs outside the Middle East.

Now, 10 years later, POBLO has sites in 8 districts of the LCMS and is currently working in Canada, Pakistan, and N. India. To date 10 ethnic churches have been planted.

POBLO ministries embraces a relational philosophy of evangelism. We believe that building relationships with Muslims is the most effective means of sharing the Gospel. Through relationships, trust is established. Through discipleship, new faith is nurtured.

POBLO fufills its mission by providing a number of services: English classes, food pantries and clothing banks, driving lessons, computer classes, job training and more. Through these services, relationships are formed and opportunities to share the Gospel arise. In other words we earn the right to be heard.
